MGM is one of Disney’s four Theme Parks. In this park you can enjoy a day of showbiz with lights, cameras, and a whole of action surrounded by some of Disney’s beloved characters. You can face fear on an elevator ride into a different dimension; you can go under the sea on a 15-minute voyage of The Little Mermaid with Ariel and friends. Also possible is to experience a demonstration of movie-making at The Disney-MGM Studios Backlot Tour, a 35-minute tour during which you see the magic of special effects and movie-making. If you want to play a game, you can play Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, and win a Disney cruise if you get all the answers right.
In this park there is also a tour during which you will learn about Walt Disney, the man who created Disney World. During this tour you will become familiar with what was Walt Disney’s life and you will watch a 15-minute film on this man. You can see how Disney’s favorites are brought to life at The Magic of Disney Animation, a 15-minute experience in which you will also learn how to draw a character for yourself.
If you want to get your adrenaline going, you can face unpredictable fear on The Tower of Terror and the Rock ´n´ Roller Coaster. The first one is a game in which you get into an elevator that drops you 13 stories at random. You will blast 0 to 60 miles per hour in 2.8 seconds. And the second one is a roller coaster with unexpected twists and turns that will scare you out of your wits as you listen to Aerosmith´s music. A new spectacular was open recently: Lights, motors, action! This is a high-octane performance during which cars race, motorcycles fly and flames burst.
There are some games that are especially interesting for children. Muppet Vision 3-D, for instance, is a tour during which children will be taken on a wacky 25-minute 3-D tour of Muppet Labs. During this tour Kermit, Miss Piggy and a cast of Muppets present a hilarious show. Children can play detectives at Sounds Dangerous-Starring Drew Carey, a game in which they join Detective Foster as he goes undercover. Another show that may be interesting for children is Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Movie Set Adventure. This game is based on the movie Honey, I Shrunk the Kids and it consists of a humungous backyard where kids can slide and crawl while imagining they have been shrunk just like in the movie.
Those are some of the games you can play and the tours you can take in MGM Studios. There are also spectacles of lights, and a spectacular 25-minute show of lasers, lights, dancing fountains and dazzling special effects. Another option is to take The Great Movie Ride, a ride through Disney all-time classic films. Or to see Beauty and the Beast-Live on Stage, a Broadway-style musical about the modern classic Belle and the Beast. Remember that most shows are repeated several times throughout the day, so check your Times Guide in order to be able to see them all.
